you really like that bold feature don't you loviatar? lol

Anyway, not everything is a promise, some things are plans, goals, projects, or whatever else. If I said I was going to do something, or made plans to do something, things don't always go as planned. Anet didn't say they promised to release a new chapter every six months, that was just the plan. Now, they appear to be taking more time, and possibly more consideration into the next chapter if there is one, and I think it is needed. Besides, I have two characters left that haven't completed nightfall.

so far though their plans have gone like clockwork

now i will stick out my neck so you all can yell i told you so if i am wrong.

1 chapter 4 will be on time as every chapter before it has been on time as well and there has been no delay announcement from Anet.

2 it will be on time as it is a very special milestone being the second birthday. (expect some special birthday event as well)

note i am expressing an opinion as i have zero facts to go on

on the other hand the delay people have just as much to back up their opinion as i do which is to say nothing.

Loviatar has what i beleive to be right and i will quote him on this "2 it will be on time as it is a very special milestone being the second birthday. (expect some special birthday event as well)" 2 years would be a smart idea to put out the 4th game. Also i beleive Gaile said that the next game was on sched as fair as she knows.

We have two development teams working on a staggered release schedule, so we'll have a new campaign out every 6 months. Emphasis on this quote:

"We have two development teams working on a staggered release schedule, so we'll have a new campaign out every 6 months."

Note: "We'll have a new campaign out," which is the same as saying it "We will have a new campaign out." They did not say they HOPE to have a new campaign out, they said they WILL have a new campaign out every six months.

Obviously Jeff didn't mean it to be completely concrete, but now everyone saying Anet promised to have a new campaign out every six months...is right. It's not a legally binding promise, but saying "We'll have a new campaign out every six months" sounds like an informal promise to me.

NOTE: The above was not construed to say that "OMG ArenaNet really did lie to us!" It is just a statement of fact, and is not meant to imply anything.

As it stands, it doesn't appear C4 will be in April, as their staggered release schedule would indicate. I'd still rather have it sooner than later...I honestly wouldn't mind buying a really bugged-up half-finished project, because I trust that Anet would fix the bugs and improve the game to the quality we've come to look for. Quicker than normal too, since there would be so many more people finding the bugs. PvP would certainly have some issues...but as long as there aren't many bugs, just really imbalances, then that's no different from any other release.

EDIT: One more thing to say...

Gaile can be wrong, and as it turns out (if she really said that, I didn't see it so I can't sure), she was. Don't take everything she says as completely concrete; she's human and can make mistakes, just like the rest of us.

That mentality is why MS stays in business

But really, that would be a terrible business move. If Anet released a buggy, shoddy, P.O.S., the reviewers would slam it. Even if Anet eventually fixes it, thousands of people would have the negative reviews burned in their mind. This is not to say that the next campaign will be perfect; tweaks and balances should be expected once a game is released to the masses.

I'd rather wait a few extra months and buy a quality campaign - not a half-baked one that was rushed out the door.

Hmmz. 7/07? Is it purely coincidence that you chose the release date for Chapter 4 to be the same day that the Transformers Live Action movie comes out in theatres?

Anyway, although I'm itching for news of the 4th Chapter as much as anyone, I think the delay in information release is because of something simple like that it's not in presentable form yet. They could have a new game mechanic or concept art that's taking a while to get into a presentable form, or maybe they're just doing concept art last and have been working hard on the game mechanics.

In every preview there is always a few teaser screenshots or concept art leaked out either from the main site or in gamer magazines, so I'm thinking the only reason that we don't have info on the new game is because they don't have some pretty pictures for us to look at :P

It sounds sort of silly but that's really the way things work these days, it's all about the visual appeal to get you excited about something new.
